The matcha cafe formerly known simply as Enchantea reopened its doors Friday at 811 Bethel Road in Columbus, relaunching as Enchantea 2.0. The shop is now open seven days a week from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m., and its Tea After Dark cocktail collection begins at 5 p.m.
The reopening caps a closure that began in late June, when the cafe announced on Instagram that it would pause operations to prepare for what it called its next chapter, according to 614NOW. The hiatus ended with a remodeled cafe and an expanded menu.
The shop's roots go back further than the Enchantea name itself. Before its rebrand, the beverage business originally soft-opened in Olentangy Plaza under the name Brewed Tea, according to posts from Columbus Foodies on Facebook, with early customers noting the shift from straightforward tea brews toward a broader matcha and dessert menu over time.
What's New on the Menu
Enchantea 2.0 keeps the classic matcha lattes and other customer favorites from before. The new menu includes a nine-layer cake, mousse and financiers. Gelato flavors include matcha and ube.
Much of that expanded lineup traces back to a 6,270-acre matcha farm the company began developing in Yunnan, China, four years ago, per the same account, with the first harvest completed this spring. The matcha is grown in Yunnan, and the process includes shading and stone grinding.
Tea After Dark Turns the Lights Down
Tea After Dark starts at 5 p.m. with a collection of tea-inspired cocktails. The collection is crafted around tea. Signature options include the spicy, floral matcha martini known as Fire Flower and Gaea's Cradle, which combines gin and a housemade carrot cordial beneath matcha foam.

A Bethel Road Corridor Built for Asian Food and Drink
Enchantea's return adds another entry to a stretch of Bethel Road widely recognized as Columbus's primary Asian dining hub, anchored by the CAM International Market superstore and home to dozens of regional Chinese, Japanese and Korean eateries, as Hoodline previously reported in its coverage of a new Hunan bistro on the same strip. The corridor has also seen a Wendy's go dark amid broader retail shifts along the road.
Columbus Food Adventures features Bethel Road on its Asian Eats tour of regional bakeries, ramen shops and specialty drink spots, according to Breakfast With Nick.
Part of a Bigger Matcha Moment
Enchantea's relaunch is one addition to Columbus's matcha and tea scene.
Before the remodel, high school reviewers at Arlingtonian praised the cafe's open-countertop preparation setup and educational tea descriptions as features that set it apart from conventional boba shops, along with the earthy flavor of its house matcha. Whether that hands-on, education-forward approach carries over into the new cocktail-driven evening concept remains to be seen as Enchantea 2.0 settles into its Bethel Road storefront.
