America's Best Contacts & Eyeglasses is planning to open a new location in Leander, setting up shop at 408 E. San Gabriel Parkway inside the Northline Retail development. The optical retailer, known for eye exams, contact lenses, glasses and sunglasses, is preparing to break ground early next year as part of a broader wave of expansion across Texas.
The Leander store is slated to begin construction at Northline in February 2027, according to Community Impact, with construction completion expected the following month, in March 2027. A construction-tracking listing from Zabalist pins the scheduled start date more precisely at February 1, 2027. The project is filed under Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation number TABS2027001437.
What the New Store Will Offer
Once open, the Leander location will provide the same services America's Best is known for elsewhere: eye exams, contact lenses, glasses and sunglasses. The company accepts many major vision insurance plans along with HSA and FSA funds, and per the same account, customers do not need insurance to be seen.
The Northline address adds to a list of America's Best locations already scattered across Central Texas, including stores in Austin and Round Rock. The retailer currently operates 11 locations in Austin alone, and the station's report notes the company has locations across Texas more broadly.
Part of a Bigger Texas Push
The Leander project is one piece of a larger expansion effort for the chain. As reported by WhatNow, America's Best is also targeting new locations in Copperas Cove and Prosper, both aimed for late 2026. Nationwide, the company now operates more than 900 locations, a scale that helps explain why a single strip of Leander retail space is drawing corporate attention.
The Northline development itself has been on a growth streak. WhatNow notes the property has previously welcomed openings like Pepper Lunch and Aubergine Kitchen, positioning it as an increasingly active retail destination along San Gabriel Parkway.
No opening date for the Leander store has been announced, and Community Impact says it will update its reporting when more information becomes available.
