Friday, Sept. 25, is listed as Comal County Fair Day on the county’s 2026 holiday schedule. The Comal County Fair Parade starts at 9 a.m. in downtown New Braunfels. South Seguin Avenue, Main Plaza and East San Antonio Street are scheduled to close at 7 a.m. and reopen at about 1 p.m., according to the City of New Braunfels.
School status is not settled for NBISD
Comal ISD is reported closed Friday for Fair Day, according to MySA. New Braunfels ISD’s board-approved 2026–27 calendar still marks Sept. 25 as “pending,” so it does not confirm a closure. The district’s calendar announcement provides no further decision on that date.
What closes—and what keeps running
MySA reports that city closures cover administrative and court offices, libraries, recreation and community facilities, and solid-waste offices and the recycling center; Comal County offices will also be closed Friday and resume regular hours Monday. New Braunfels Utilities separately lists its administrative offices as closed for Fair Day in its closure notice.
The reported office and facility closures do not mean routine pickups stop: MySA says residential and commercial garbage, brush and recycling collection will follow regular schedules, and Landa Park Golf Course hours will be unchanged. Residents can check the report for the service details.
Downtown parade closures
The 2026 parade closure is scheduled from about 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. on South Seguin Avenue, Main Plaza and East San Antonio Street. The current city notice provides details for this year’s closures.
Fair runs through Sunday
The fair runs Sept. 23–27 and features rodeo, livestock shows, music, carnival rides, food and exhibits, according to MySA. The fair association’s Corral schedule lists country artist Easton Corbin for Saturday night.
