FirstLight Federal Credit Union has expanded its corporate headquarters at 9983 Kenworthy Street in Northeast El Paso. The project added a two-story, 33,700-square-foot facility and expanded the existing administrative building by 4,800 square feet for a training room. KTSM 9 News reported that the credit union marked the completed work with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. FirstLight’s announcement identifies Banes Construction as the builder.
What the expansion adds
The added building is intended to support FirstLight’s back-office operations. The training room in the remodeled administrative building is intended for employee development, leadership training, and service excellence, according to the credit union’s announcement.
FirstLight describes the project as a way to increase operational capacity and provide employees with more room for their work. In statements carried in the credit union’s announcement, President and CEO Margie Salazar connected the expansion to employee support and future member service. Vice President of Administration Joe Arvizu said the facility was planned to meet current operating needs while retaining flexibility as the organization grows.
Completion timeline
FirstLight’s announcement had projected that the headquarters work would be finished in spring 2026. KTSM’s report later covered the ribbon-cutting for the completed expansion. The project follows another FirstLight change on Kenworthy Street.
