Five men on Guam have been arrested after a multi-agency undercover sting identified them as suspects who allegedly tried to lure children into illegal sexual activity.
The operation, called Protektot Y Famagu'on — Chamorro for “Defender of Children” — was conducted on Guam, according to the U.S. Department of Justice. HSI Guam confirmed five arrests in a post shared by HSI Honolulu

A Sweeping Multi-Agency Response
The sting was led by the Homeland Security Investigations Assistant Special Agent in Charge for Guam, with support from HSI offices in Saipan, Honolulu, and Atlanta. The Justice Department's account of the operation also lists involvement from the FBI, the Naval Criminal Investigative Service, the Defense Criminal Investigative Service, the Guam Police Department, the Guam Customs & Quarantine Agency, and Guam Airport Police — a roster that spans federal, military, and territorial law enforcement working the same island-wide effort. HSI Guam said it worked with federal and local partners on the operation, according to the post from HSI Honolulu, which described the effort as sending a clear message that those who seek to exploit children will be identified, investigated, and held accountable.

Part of a Broader Pacific and National Pattern
HSI Honolulu was tied to a separate case in May, when it investigated an Oahu man who was later indicted on federal child sexual abuse material distribution charges, as Hoodline reported at the time. Similar operations have unfolded far beyond the Pacific: a two-week regional crackdown in Southern California called Operation Firewall led to 341 arrests and 40 child rescues across five counties in May, according to FOX 11 Los Angeles.
HSI said it worked with federal and local partners on the sting. That coordination brought together law enforcement to pursue the five men now involved in the case.
