
Firefighters swarmed a garage facility on the 6600 block of Essington Avenue in Southwest Philadelphia Wednesday afternoon, battling flames and thick plumes of smoke. The fire was reported around 1 p.m., and within minutes crews were pouring water from multiple angles.
According to NBC10 Philadelphia, the outlet's SkyForce 10 helicopter captured the blaze from the air around 1:35 p.m., showing flames and heavy smoke billowing from what appeared to be a garage facility. The station, reported by Marcela Camargo, said it was still working to learn more details about the fire's cause and the extent of the damage. Chopper 3 footage separately showed firefighters using several hose lines to attack the flames from different angles, according to CBS News, which reported firefighters dousing the flames from multiple angles.

The exact cause of the Essington Avenue fire, whether any hazardous materials or tire stock fueled the flames, and the full extent of damage to the garage facility and neighboring parcels remain unknown as crews continued working the scene.
