Monday Brings Heat And An Ozone Alert
Monday will be mostly sunny with a high near 92 degrees and a slight chance of afternoon showers or thunderstorms. Isolated storms could develop Monday afternoon in parts of western Central Texas, with a possible development corridor in East Texas, according to the National Weather Service.
The Dallas-Fort Worth area is also under an Ozone Action Day through Monday evening. The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality recommends reducing pollution by sharing rides, avoiding drive-through lanes, conserving energy and keeping vehicles properly maintained.

Heavy Rain And Flooding Threaten Wednesday And Thursday
The pattern changes sharply Wednesday, when showers and thunderstorms become likely and temperatures begin falling from the mid-90s. Rain is expected to become widespread Wednesday and continue into Thursday, when some storms could produce heavy rain.
Forecast guidance points to roughly 2 to 4 inches of rain across parts of North and Central Texas, with isolated totals above 6 inches possible. The Weather Prediction Center has placed the region under a Level 3 of 4 risk for excessive rainfall on both Wednesday and Thursday, making localized flooding the week’s most important weather concern; the heaviest rain may arrive from late Wednesday night into Thursday morning.
Cooler, Wetter Weather Lingers Into The Weekend
Highs are forecast to fall into the lower to mid-80s Thursday through Sunday. Showers and thunderstorms will remain possible through the weekend, with overnight lows in the 60s.
