Game Show Battle Rooms is bringing its live-action, game-show-style arenas to Town Square Las Vegas this fall, according to an Instagram post from the outdoor shopping center announcing the new tenant's arrival at 6605 S. Las Vegas Blvd. The concept, which bills itself as an interactive alternative to escape rooms, lets teams of friends, family, coworkers, or classmates compete head-to-head in custom arenas run by live game show hosts.
The Las Vegas debut is part of a broader national push. As reported by WhatNow, Game Show Battle Rooms already lists an upcoming Las Vegas location on its website, though the company had not responded to the outlet's inquiry about the expansion by publication time. The chain currently operates 24 locations nationwide, including outposts in Kansas City, Indianapolis, Columbus, and Dallas, and per MySA, it is pursuing fall 2026 openings in Los Angeles, Portland, and Las Vegas, followed by early 2027 debuts in Des Moines and San Antonio, where the company's build-out is expected to run about $700,000 across 3,700 square feet.
From Pedal Pubs to Prime-Time Arenas
The company traces back to co-founders David Sauer and Kevin Letnes, who grew up in central Minnesota and met while attending the University of St. Thomas, according to WhatNow's reporting. Before launching Game Show Battle Rooms, the pair ran a pedal pub business in Omaha, Nebraska, an experience that fed into their pivot toward live group entertainment. Sauer, who serves as co-founder and owner of the company, reportedly launched the concept in Minneapolis in 2017 after noticing that traditional game-show participation had long been restricted to television studio contestants, per the WhatNow account, which also notes the business was co-founded alongside John Dockendorf.
Once inside, players can compete in several game-show-style rounds. The venue's Classic Showdowns format features survey battles, wheel spinning, and price-guessing rounds, while other games include timed skill challenges and guessing teammates' answers, according to the Jacksonville Daily Record. Players get an hour of play across three games.
What It Costs and Who It's For
Tickets are listed at $29.95 per person, according to Game Show Battle Rooms' own website. The arenas serve groups of 8 to 64 players, and the company also runs mobile Roadshow events for offsite corporate groups of 80 to 500 guests.
That group-friendly setup lines up neatly with what's already surrounding the site. Town Square is a 100-acre, 1.2 million-square-foot open-air complex co-owned by TIAA and Fairbourne Properties, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal's reporting on the property's 2017 acquisition. It sits beside the Interstate 215 and Las Vegas Boulevard interchange.
A Built-In Weekday Crowd
Game Show Battle Rooms is landing at a Town Square that is also home to Stoney's Rockin' Country, a Town Square standby Hoodline has previously covered. Beyond weekend foot traffic, the center could also appeal to corporate groups seeking team-building bookings.
The commercial area extends beyond the mall's gates, including the stretch around Flamingo Road and Las Vegas Boulevard.
Not Every Tenant Is Thriving
The entertainment expansion arrives alongside real strain for some of Town Square's smaller, longtime tenants. Braud's Funnel Cake Cafe, a 10-year fixture at the mall, closed its storefront in August after a 40% drop in foot traffic and rising wholesale ingredient costs, Hoodline has reported, with the business pivoting to a mobile concession trailer rather than staying in a fixed location. The contrast highlights how landlords at open-air centers like Town Square are increasingly leaning on interactive, non-retail concepts to keep shoppers on-site, even as some traditional storefront businesses struggle to hang on.
