A garbage truck struck a utility pole on Painters Run Road near the Scott Township-Upper St. Clair border Thursday morning, leaving wires down and crews working to clear the roadway as the morning commute was disrupted.
Emergency crews responded after the crash was reported, according to WTAE. The report said the truck hit a pole and brought down wires along the roadway, which runs between the two South Hills communities.

Officials had not determined whether anyone was injured, according to the report. Cleanup, investigation and utility work continued, and emergency officials asked people to avoid the area while crews addressed the crash and the downed wires.
