The show marks a notable shift for Simmons, who cofounded KISS and played bass for the band. KISS completed its farewell tour in 2023, closing out the group's touring career.
Simmons formed the Gene Simmons Band in spring 2024 to perform favorite KISS songs, joined by guitarists Brent Woods and Zach Throne and drummer Brian Tichy, according to Niagara Falls Tourism. Saturday's Palmdale stop comes as Simmons is scheduled to headline a free show at Speaking Rock in El Paso on August 1, 2026, according to a Hoodline report.

Opening act Great White is touring with a different frontman than the one fans may remember from the band's commercial peak. Jack Russell was the band's lead singer and co-founded it with Mark Kendall, according to The Independent.
Russell sang lead on the band's biggest hit, “Once Bitten, Twice Shy,” which climbed to No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1989 and pushed sales of the album “...Twice Shy” past two million copies, per the Los Angeles Times.
