A 42-year-old Glen Burnie man has died after his motorcycle collided with a car that was turning left in Linthicum on Sunday afternoon, according to police. Elias Crespo Tejada was rushed to a shock trauma center with life-threatening injuries following the crash at Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard and East Maple Road, and he later died there.
The crash happened around 4:25 p.m. on September 20, when Northern District officers responded to the intersection, according to a press release from the Anne Arundel County Police Department. A preliminary investigation found that Tejada's motorcycle was traveling southbound on Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard when a Nissan attempted to make a left turn from the northbound lanes onto westbound East Maple Road, as reported by WBFF.
As the Nissan crossed the lanes of traffic, Tejada's motorcycle struck the passenger side of the car, per the same account. He was identified by police as Elias Crespo Tejada, a 42-year-old Glen Burnie resident, and was taken to a shock trauma center, where he later died from his injuries.
Other Driver Uninjured, Investigation Ongoing
The Nissan's driver, a 67-year-old Linthicum resident, was not injured in the collision, county police said. Anne Arundel County's Crash Reconstruction Team processed the scene and is continuing to handle the investigation, the department noted in its release.
No additional details about the circumstances leading up to the crash, including road conditions or witness accounts, have been released by investigators. The Anne Arundel County Police Department has not indicated whether any citations have been issued in connection with the collision.
