No injuries were reported, and officials later confirmed there was no active house fire.
Police and firefighters were called to the scene shortly after 1 a.m., according to RLS Media, which reported that authorities encountered a barricaded male occupant threatening to ignite the residence. Officers began negotiations with the man while firefighters, EMS crews and other emergency personnel staged nearby as a precaution, the outlet reported.
Neighboring properties were evacuated as the standoff unfolded, displacing residents in the middle of the night. Camden County authorities requested a bus to provide temporary shelter for those displaced.
