A new restaurant called Grand Restaurant is planned to take over the former Fushimi Grill & Modern Buffet space in Jacksonville.
The project first surfaced through local social media chatter, according to WhatNow. That outlet reported it was unable to connect with ownership before publication for comment or additional details, so specifics about the menu or opening timeline remain unconfirmed.
The location had operated as a buffet concept.
A Location With a Robotic Past
Yi Liu Hot Pot, BBQ, and Sushi operated in the Atlantic Boulevard and Girvin shopping center, according to 904 Happy Hour. Owner Mendy told the outlet at the time that the name Yi Liu translates to “excellent” or “first-class” in Mandarin Chinese. The restaurant later drew local attention for a robot named Peanut that seated guests.

Nearby Tequila's Town at Harbour Village has permanently closed.
For now, the key details about Grand Restaurant remain open. No formal construction timeline or opening date has been announced.
