Greenville Country Music Fest is breaking from its fall tradition and moving into springtime, with organizers confirming the festival will return April 30 through May 1, 2027, at CCNB Amphitheatre at Heritage Park in Simpsonville. It marks a move from the festival's usual autumn window in recent years to a spring weekend.
Organizers have officially announced the return of the festival, according to FOX Carolina News, which reported the event is set to take over the CCNB Amphitheatre from April 30 through May 1. The station notes the festival was traditionally held in the fall in recent years, making the jump to a spring weekend a notable shake-up for a gathering that has become a fixture on the Upstate's live-music calendar.
The festival is co-produced by Palmetto Entertainment and Opry Entertainment Group, and it typically brings multiple stages of live music from top country artists to Heritage Park. Palmetto Entertainment owner Braxton Wilson produces events at the amphitheater, including the annual country music gathering, the outlet has reported.
From a Ballpark Debut to Tens of Thousands
The festival's roots trace back to a single-day event at Fluor Field, which the station's report says grew into a multiday celebration now drawing tens of thousands of fans across the Upstate each year. Sources differ on exactly when that origin story began: the same outlet's coverage ties the first festival to 2019, while The Post and Courier has referenced the event starting in 2018.
Regardless of the exact founding year, the growth has been dramatic. A separate FOX Carolina report on last October's festival quoted Wilson saying, “Six years later, we're doing 25,000 people across the weekend,” a sharp jump from the event's early days downtown. That same report noted the inaugural festival in 2019 was a one-day affair at Fluor Field.
What Past Lineups and Tickets Looked Like
The festival's earliest incarnation, documented by MiLB.com, was scheduled for a Saturday, August 31, at Fluor Field and featured more than 15 acts headlined by multi-Platinum group Old Dominion. Ticket tiers for that first show ranged from $60 for on-field general admission up to $249 for a Champions Club VIP Experience, according to the same account.
More recently, the festival has expanded into a full two-day production. Greenville Online reported that last October's sixth-year edition ran Friday and Saturday, October 24-25, 2025, at the CCNB Amphitheatre, with Zach Top and Koe Wetzel headlining. The festival typically features multiple stages of live music; Wetzel and Top topped the bill on Friday and Saturday respectively, per FOX Carolina's coverage of that weekend.
Family Attractions Remain a Staple
Beyond the music, the festival has built a reputation for family-friendly programming. Past editions have typically featured rodeos, carnival rides and local vendor alleys alongside the concert stages, giving the weekend a fairground feel that extends beyond the main acts.
For the 2027 spring edition, organizers have not yet released the full artist lineup or ticket-sale details, but they say both will be announced soon. Fans hoping to plan ahead for the new spring weekend at Heritage Park will need to watch for those updates in the coming months.
