According to Greenville News, Shake Shack had previously indicated the Greenville restaurant would open sometime in summer 2026, a window that has now passed without a launch. The outlet reported that it reached out to Shake Shack for details on the opening as of 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, but had not received a response by publication.
Hiring Push Suggests Opening Is Getting Closer
Job postings tell part of the story. The Woodruff Road location is currently hiring for restaurant team member positions paying $15 an hour plus tips, according to the same report, and it is also seeking restaurant shift managers. Staffing up a crew for both entry-level and management roles is typically one of the last steps before a restaurant chain flips the switch on a grand opening, though the Greenville location still has no listed hours of operation.
Social media rumors have speculated the Greenville Shake Shack could open as early as next week, per the report, though that timeline has not been confirmed by the company itself. Greenville is one of two Shake Shack locations planned for South Carolina this year, joining a sister restaurant at Tanger Outlets in North Charleston.
