The run officially opens the venue's 2026/2027 AdventHealth Broadway in Orlando season, a 12-production lineup that includes returning favorites like Wicked alongside local debuts such as Buena Vista Social Club, according to the Dr. Phillips Center. It's a Broadway series presented in partnership with the Florida Theatrical Association, and it lands at a moment when Orlando has firmly established itself as a heavyweight touring market rather than a secondary stop on the circuit.

The show explores immigration, revolution, political power, and who gets to claim the American story, themes that carry particular resonance as the United States marks 250 years since the Declaration of Independence in 2026.
Since its 2015 Broadway debut, Hamilton has been seen by more than 28 million people worldwide and has collected 11 Tony Awards, the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, a Grammy Award, and Olivier Awards, according to Artis-Naples. The musical is based on Ron Chernow's biography of Alexander Hamilton.

A Venue Riding Its Own Momentum
An independent economic study by Tourism Economics found the center generated $227.6 million in total annual economic impact for Central Florida in its most recent fiscal year, supporting 2,483 jobs and generating $13.2 million in state and local taxes, as reported by Orlando Shine.
That popularity has a downside: the center operated at up to 97% capacity during fiscal year 2024–25 while welcoming more than 910,000 guests a year. In August 2026, venue officials pitched a $1.5 billion Master Plan expansion to Orange County's Tourist Development Tax task force, seeking funding to add 11 new venues and push annual guest capacity up to 1.5 million, according to Orlando Shine. The proposal includes a 750-seat theater, a 4,000-person outdoor amphitheater, and 1,150 additional parking spaces.
Hamilton is staged inside the center's Walt Disney Theater. Hoodline previously noted that Buena Vista Social Club and the Judson's Live cabaret series are part of the venue's packed fall calendar.
