A 20-year-old special needs woman who wandered away from her home in Montgomery County was found safe Sunday after a Harris County Precinct 4 K-9 team tracked her into a heavily wooded area. K-9 Sig, a scent-tracking dog handled by Deputy Millhouse, picked up the trail and led searchers to the woman, who was evaluated by EMS after spending time outdoors.
According to the Click2Houston report, the Precinct 4 Constable's Office said K-9 Sig and Deputy Millhouse assisted Montgomery County police in the search, which ended with the woman being located safely. Officials praised the teamwork among the agencies involved, and the report notes that the successful search demonstrated the important role K-9 teams play in locating missing people.
