A crash at County Line Road and the Suncoast Parkway in Hernando County involved a reported gun-pointing incident Thursday when the driver allegedly pointed a handgun at two firefighter-paramedics who had come to check on him. Deputies say 40-year-old Daniel Thomas Hall Jr. put the gun down when ordered to, then picked it back up, chambered a round, and pointed it at the responders again before deputies ordered him out of the vehicle and arrested him without further incident.
According to the fox13news.com report, Hernando County Fire Rescue personnel were assisting people involved in the crash when two firefighters approached Hall's vehicle to assess him. That is when investigators say he pulled out a handgun and pointed it at both of them. Gun Raised a Second Time
Hall's compliance did not last. Per fox13news.com, he briefly put the weapon down but then picked it back up and pointed it at the firefighters a second time. Before deputies could identify him, Hall reportedly gave multiple false names and dates of birth during the investigation. Deputies eventually identified him as Daniel Thomas Hall Jr., a 40-year-old convicted felon stemming from a 2003 burglary conviction in Pasco County, per fox13news.com. According to Hernando County authorities, Hall has not had his firearm rights restored.
Deputies also determined that Hall was at fault for causing the initial crash, though authorities have not disclosed what caused the wreck or how many vehicles were involved, the report notes.

Hall now faces multiple new felony charges tied to the confrontation.
