Licensing Hurdles for Food Service in Wisconsin
Any food operation in Wisconsin, including a mobile food truck like the one planned for The Range Haus, must clear licensing requirements under state law. Chapter 97 of the Wisconsin State Statutes requires people operating a food-service establishment to hold a valid license issued either by the state or by an agent health department, according to the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection.
Locally, the City of New Berlin directs applicants for permits to its Department of Community Development, located on the second floor of City Hall at 3805 S. Casper Drive, and advises applicants to contact city staff to confirm requirements. It is not known whether Sanguansap's food operations at The Range Haus have secured the necessary permits or inspections ahead of the planned October rollout.
