The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality has issued an Ozone Action Day for the Houston, Galveston and Brazoria area Wednesday. The air quality alert says atmospheric conditions are expected to favor high ozone levels. Residents can help by avoiding drive-through lines and unnecessary idling, sharing rides when possible, conserving energy and keeping vehicles properly tuned.
Thursday Brings Less Humidity, Not Much Less Heat
Wednesday night stays warm, with a low near 80 and a 10% chance of showers or thunderstorms. Thursday should be mostly sunny with a high near 97, followed by a nighttime low around 79 as a front pushes through and trims some of the humidity.
Friday should bring generally low-to-mid-90s temperatures, with little to no rain to close the workweek. Outdoor plans should favor the morning or evening.
Weekend Sun Holds Before Rain Chances Return
Weekend and early-next-week highs will be in the mid-90s, with some upper-90s possible. Rain chances persist over the weekend and may increase Monday or Tuesday.
