A Sunday Night Stop Between Bigger Dates
According to CBS News, Sacramento reporter Ryan Nelson spoke with Ice Cube ahead of the Lincoln performance. The Sunday show is sandwiched between a September 5 date at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena and a September 19 appearance at the Washington State Fair in Puyallup, according to Ice Cube's official tour schedule. Tickets for the Lincoln concert ranged from $69.95 to $189.95 plus applicable taxes and fees, per the venue's event listing at Thunder Valley Casino Resort. The show carries strict age and security rules: attendees must be at least 21, or between 13 and 20 if accompanied at all times by an adult 21 or older. All guests must pass through metal detector screening, and anyone wearing an electronic monitoring device is barred from entry.
Inside The $100 Million Indoor Venue
The Venue at Thunder Valley is a 150,000-square-foot, 4,500-seat indoor facility that cost $100 million to build and opened in February 2023, replacing a 5,000-seat outdoor amphitheater that hosted nearly 300 shows between 2011 and 2022, according to Comstock's Magazine. That debut weekend sold out over three days across President's Day weekend, with performances from the Eagles, Bruno Mars, and Carlos Santana. The upgrade gave the casino a climate-controlled option capable of hosting major national touring acts year-round.
Thunder Valley Casino Resort itself opened in June 2003 in unincorporated Placer County near Lincoln and is owned and operated by the United Auburn Indian Community, a federally recognized tribe of Miwok and Maidu Indians, per Wikipedia. The resort has grown into a 270,000-square-foot gaming floor with roughly 3,500 slot machines, 90 table games, a 17-story, 408-room hotel, and more than 20 restaurants and bars, according to the resort's own site.
A Career Built On More Than Music
Ice Cube's career, which began with hip-hop group N.W.A. before he launched a solo run, has produced more than 10 million albums sold worldwide as of 2026, per the venue's artist bio.
