An Indianapolis punk band that recently shared a stage with Jack White is rolling into Tampa's Sulphur Springs neighborhood next Wednesday. Pat & the Pissers will open for California outfit Death Lens and Mississippi hardcore act Skinman at Music Hall at New World Brewery on September 23, with tickets still available starting at $27.51.
The Indianapolis four-piece — lead singer Alex Beckman, guitarist Matt Keyser, drummer Connor James, and bassist Kilmer — built its following the old-fashioned way, developing an energetic live show in basements across the Midwest before landing a much bigger stage, as Creative Loafing Tampa reports. That trajectory hit a new peak on July 21, when Jack White tapped the band to open his show at the Everwise Amphitheater at White River State Park in Indianapolis, according to a Facebook post documenting the concert. The post also notes a strict phone-free policy for concertgoers using lockable Yondr pouches.
Pat & the Pissers arrive in Tampa supporting their 2025 LP How It's Done, released on vinyl through Romanus Records in March of that year. The band picked up national press back in September 2023 for a limited-edition, maggot-filled vinyl pressing of two earlier LPs, America's Dream and Soil, according to Music Mecca's coverage of the group. Romanus Records has built a niche around embedding unusual physical media directly into vinyl pressings, per the same outlet.
Death Lens Brings a Rebuilt Lineup to Sulphur Springs
Co-headliner Death Lens comes to Tampa touring behind its fifth studio album, What's Left Now?, released through Epitaph Records on April 24. The album, produced by Zach Tuch, introduces new guitarist Ernie Gutierrez alongside longtime members Bryan Torres, Jhon Reyes, and Tony Rangel, according to background from Epitaph Records. The band recorded the LP after nine months of heavy touring pushed two previous members to leave the group, per that same account.
Death Lens has covered a lot of ground since forming in La Puente, California, back in 2011 as an instrumental surf-punk outfit. The band signed with Epitaph Records in September 2023 and released Vacant, its Epitaph label debut, in May 2024, as detailed by Broadway World. Frontman Bryan Torres leads the group.
A Mississippi Hardcore Opener Rounds Out the Bill
Opening the night is Skinman, a dark hardcore band out of Hattiesburg, Mississippi, according to the Miami listing. The band brings that dark hardcore sound to Tampa.
The Tampa date is one stop on a broader Florida and Southeast run for all three bands, following a show at Churchill's Pub in Miami the night before, on September 22, according to the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau. Breakeven Booking presented the Miami date, per that listing.

Music Hall at New World Brewery is an indoor concert space in Sulphur Springs with a brand-new L-Acoustics PA system. New World Brewery is now in Sulphur Springs, as Hoodline has previously reported. The venue's current home is in Sulphur Springs.
The room has an event calendar for upcoming shows. With Pat & the Pissers, Death Lens, and Skinman sharing the bill, the September 23 stop gives Tampa a snapshot of current underground punk pulled from the Midwest, Southern California, and the Deep South all on one stage.
