Kacey Musgraves is heading back to Dallas. The Grammy-winning singer will play American Airlines Center on Oct. 10, 2026, as part of her Middle of Nowhere Tour, bringing her sixth studio album to the same Texas stages she's filled before.
According to wfaa.com, William Beckmann will open the Dallas show, one of several Texas stops where he's supporting Musgraves, including Houston and Austin. The tour supports her sixth studio album, Middle of Nowhere, which was scheduled for release on May 1, 2026, per the same station's reporting.
Musgraves is a Golden, Texas native, as Dallas Observer notes, and this isn't her first time filling a Dallas arena. She played two shows in Dallas during the 2024 Deeper Well World Tour, according to the same outlet, an outing that included bringing out Fort Worth's Leon Bridges as well as the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders as surprise backup dancers.
A Career Built From a 2013 Debut to Grammy Gold
Musgraves' rise has been well documented. Per grammy.com, she announced her arrival in 2013 with her major-label solo debut, Same Trailer Different Park, launching a run that would eventually lead to some of country music's biggest honors.
That trajectory reached a recent peak with her 2025 Grammy Award for Best Country Song for “The Architect,” as reported by American Songwriter. The outlet reports the song emerged from a writing session that took place a couple of weeks after the Covenant School shooting in Nashville on March 27, 2023, giving the award-winning track a somber origin story behind its accolades.
Burying Old Grudges With Miranda Lambert
Musgraves has also been reconnecting with old collaborators. She and Miranda Lambert wrote “Horses and Divorces” in a matter of a few hours after addressing past friction between them, according to Rolling Stone. “We aired out any of the old laundry,” Musgraves said, describing the session. “We had some laughs and wrote the song in a matter of a few hours.”
The magazine reports that Musgraves brought Lambert onstage during the final night of a three-night residency at Gruene Hall in New Braunfels for the song's live debut. The exact dates of that Gruene Hall run are disputed: wfaa.com reported the residency ran May 3 through May 5, while the Dallas Observer described it as a May 3-6 run — a discrepancy the available reporting doesn't resolve.
A Recent Tribute to a Country Legend
Just two days before this news, Musgraves led a tribute to Dolly Parton at the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards, performing “I Will Always Love You,” according to Variety. The performance underscored Musgraves' place among a new generation of artists carrying forward classic country's legacy while building their own catalog.
Musgraves has also spoken about wanting to spotlight Mexican culture's ties to country music. “I really want to go an extra mile to really show the Mexican culture that I really deeply appreciate it,” she told the Dallas Observer earlier this year, a comment that hints at creative directions she may continue exploring as the Middle of Nowhere era unfolds.
Dallas fans will get their chance to see where that evolution has led when Musgraves takes the American Airlines Center stage on Oct. 10, backed by an opening set from Beckmann and a catalog that now spans more than a decade, according to the Dallas News.
