She first played Pittsburgh as a newcomer opening act for Kenny Chesney at Heinz Field in 2013, then returned to headline the smaller Stage AE venue in 2016. Since then, Musgraves has become an eight-time Grammy winner, and in 2024 she made history as the first artist to win in all four country music categories over her career, later adding a Best Country Song win in February 2025 for “The Architect.”

Flatland Cavalry formed in Lubbock, Texas in 2012, when college roommates Cleto Cordero and Jason Albers built out a six-piece country and Americana group, according to AllMusic. The band's history includes the EP Come May, and last October the group was formally inducted into the West Texas Walk of Fame during a ceremony at the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center, per Civic Lubbock.
