Kentucky State Police are searching for a 41-year-old Bimble man wanted on rape and sodomy charges, with two active warrants. Scotty McVey remains at large as troopers ask anyone with information on his whereabouts to come forward.
Per KSP, McVey has two outstanding warrants, according to Fox 56 News. The station reports on the warrants and says Kentucky State Police is asking anyone with information about McVey's whereabouts to contact KSP Post 10.
What the Charges Could Mean
Under Kentucky law, first-degree rape is a Class B felony carrying a prison term of 10 to 20 years, a range that can be elevated to a Class A felony punishable by 20 to 50 years or life in prison if the victim suffers serious physical injury or is under 12 years old, according to statutory guidelines outlined by FindLaw. A conviction on first-degree rape or first-degree sodomy would require lifetime registration on Kentucky's Sex Offender Registry, along with restrictions barring registrants from living within 1,000 feet of schools or daycare facilities, per legal guidance published by the Stotts Law Group. Kentucky law also mandates that a conviction for any degree of rape or sodomy automatically triggers an application for an interpersonal protective order to safeguard the victim, unless the victim affirmatively requests otherwise, according to legal statutes cited by WomensLaw.org.

Bimble is where McVey is from. KSP Post 10 is identified as the contact point for information about his whereabouts.
This is not McVey's first brush with law enforcement in the area. He was previously arrested in Knox County in June 2023 following a domestic violence call involving his girlfriend and an infant child; his formal charges were later downgraded to third-degree criminal abuse, fourth-degree assault, and third-degree terroristic threatening, according to a report from The Big 106.3.
