A grocery run in Houston or Missouri City will soon include an option to pick up Dunkin' coffee and doughnuts without leaving Kroger. Two kiosks are scheduled to open this week and next, with separate grand-opening promotions for early arrivals.
The first kiosk is scheduled to open Friday at Kroger Woodforest Square, 12620 Woodforest Blvd. in Houston, according to Chron. The second is set to follow on Oct. 2 at Kroger's Fort Bend Tollway store, 10250 Hwy. 6 in Missouri City. These will be Dunkin's first kiosks inside Houston-area Kroger stores.
Both counters will offer Dunkin' food and drinks, including the chain's signature doughnuts, Chron reports. The Missouri City kiosk will also have table seating, while both locations are scheduled to open daily at 9 a.m., according to the report.
Food-safety oversight
For food-safety permitting and inspections, the Texas Department of State Health Services says local agencies are responsible for their respective jurisdictions and advises contacting them directly about local requirements.
Grand-Opening Perk for Rewards Members
At each opening, Dunkin' is offering a 100 Days of Coffee giveaway to the first 100 Dunkin' Rewards members in line. The prize is free medium hot or iced coffee for 100 days, with the promotion offered separately at each location, according to Chron.
Kroger spokesperson Shayna Barrett said the company is focused on the Houston and Missouri City openings as it looks for ways to enhance customers' shopping experience, Chron reported. Kroger has not said whether it plans to add Dunkin' kiosks at other Houston-area or Texas stores.
Dunkin's Texas Footprint
Dunkin' was founded in 1950 and was formerly known as Dunkin' Donuts. As noted by Chron, the chain now operates in nearly 40 global markets and counts more than 14,200 restaurants worldwide, and it bills itself as the largest coffee and doughnuts brand in the United States.
In Texas, Chron reports that Dunkin' has more than 300 locations and that the company's website lists 301. The two Kroger kiosks add another option for Houston-area shoppers looking to combine a grocery trip with a Dunkin' stop.
