Kwality Ice Cream is planning a second location in Frisco. Filings show the Indian-inspired ice cream chain is planning a 2,764-square-foot shop at 2275 University Drive.
Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation filings reviewed by Community Impact show the University Drive buildout carries an estimated $90,000 interior finish-out. The project is described with a November 16 construction start date and an estimated completion date of January 11, 2027. That timeline puts a real ice cream counter on University Drive within a few months, assuming the build stays on schedule.
The brand's first Frisco location, at 13089 Main Street, Suite 500, was reported by the same WhatNow report. The cited material does not identify a franchisee for the new University Drive location, and WhatNow noted it had not received a response from him before publication.
A Franchisee With Metroplex Roots
Vikey previously brought the Kwality concept to the Dallas-Fort Worth area with storefronts at 8600 N. MacArthur Boulevard in Irving and 1060 N. Main Street in Euless, according to CultureMap Fort Worth. Kwality also operates or supplies locations in Plano and Carrollton, per that same outlet's reporting. WhatNow's own coverage additionally notes a Kwality location planned for Leander, an area WhatNow Austin first reported on in 2024.

What's on the Menu
Kwality's menu centers on traditional South Asian frozen novelties, including layered cassata ice cream cakes, falooda sundaes and specialty flavors like meetha paan, green guava and chickoo, according to CultureMap Fort Worth. The chain also lists more familiar flavors such as mango, pistachio, kulfi, rose, chocolate and cookies and cream, per WhatNow's reporting, alongside sundaes.
The texture that sets kulfi apart comes down to technique. Kwality crafts its desserts with a 16% butterfat base churned in small batches with minimal incorporated air, which produces the dense consistency associated with traditional Indian kulfi, per Kennesaw.com. Kennesaw.com describes kulfi as slowly frozen and not whipped.
A Brand Built Over Two Decades
Kwality Ice Cream was founded by Kanti Parekh and his son Anand. Kanti Parekh was a food scientist and flavorist with more than 40 years of experience, according to Kennesaw.com.
Kennesaw.com reported 40 Kwality locations nationwide in October 2025. That expansion is playing out against a fast-shifting local backdrop.
The trend extends well beyond Frisco's city limits. Across the greater Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, the Asian population reached approximately 661,000 residents in 2024, after growing by nearly 70% between 2012 and 2022, according to The American Bazaar. That regional growth helps explain why Kwality is building a second, larger store in Frisco rather than stopping at one.
