Luke J. Castle, who lives in Lancaster, had contacted 911 to report that his father, Thomas J. Childers, also of Lancaster, had been unconscious and unresponsive for about an hour. Deputies arrived to find Childers suffering from injuries, and emergency medical personnel transported him to an area hospital for treatment, where he remains in critical condition, per the sheriff's office.
