Parlor Doughnuts is planning to open a shop at 160 E. Plant St. in Winter Garden, bringing its layered doughnuts — including savory flavors like buffalo chicken and margherita — to the eastern edge of the city's historic downtown. No opening date has been set yet.

According to West Orange Times & Observer, the menu will feature both sweet and savory layered doughnuts. On the savory side, customers can expect buffalo chicken, margherita, OG pepperoni and chicken bacon ranch doughnuts, among other options. The sweet lineup includes peanut butter cup, churro, maple pecan, French toast and strawberry shortcake doughnuts.

Beyond doughnuts, the shop plans to serve hot and iced coffees, iced and blended energizers, teas and old-fashioned sodas, per the same report. The article, written by managing editor Liz Ramos, did not specify when the location might open, only noting that a date has not yet been announced.

A Standalone Building Near Historic Downtown

The proposed site sits at the southwest corner of Plant Street's intersection with Dillard Street, a standalone building on the eastern end of Winter Garden's historic downtown, according to WFTV. The plan calls for converting an existing 1,956-square-foot professional office building into a quick-serve doughnut restaurant, the article notes. Brad Cowherd submitted the application for the request.

Cowherd already runs the first Central Florida Parlor Doughnuts location in Orlando's College Park neighborhood and is behind the push to open the second in Winter Garden, WFTV reports. Parlor Doughnuts describes itself as a craft doughnut and coffee shop offering an array of unique bakery items, including its original layered doughnuts, vegan and gluten-friendly and keto-friendly products, artisanal breakfasts and specialty coffee, per the same account.

City Board Signed Off On Renovations

The building at 160 E. Plant Street is a 2,511-square-foot non-contributing building within the historic district and is zoned C-1, according to Citizen Portal AI. Renovation plans include opening the north side of the building to create an outdoor seating area, new paint, and screening designed as a chimney for the kitchen exhaust fan, the report states. Winter Garden's Architectural Review and Historic Preservation Board approved the renovations unanimously, 5-0, subject to staff conditions.

The Winter Garden proposal has been in the works for some time. Back in May 2024, the city's development review committee discussed the feasibility of a Parlor Doughnuts at the same address, according to a separate WFTV report. Around that same time, the Orlando Business Journal described Parlor Doughnuts as a national chain known for its layered doughnuts and reported the Winter Garden shop was still under consideration at the time.

College Park Roots And A Clermont Expansion Ahead

Parlor Doughnuts' existing College Park shop, at 2912 Edgewater Drive in Orlando, is already open and serving made-to-order doughnuts along with all-day breakfast items such as breakfast tacos and açai bowls, according to Orlando Weekly. Its drink menu there includes lattes, matcha, cappuccinos and cold brew, the outlet reports.

The chain's Central Florida footprint isn't stopping in Winter Garden. WFTV reports that Parlor Doughnuts is also planning a third location at the Cross Ridge Exchange in Clermont, with plans to close on the retail space there for $2.4 million.
