A Detroit-born pizza chain is setting up shop in Capac, taking over the former Johnny’s Pizzeria space at 534 North Main Street as it opens its fourth restaurant in just two years. Little Italy Pizza is targeting a Monday, September 28 opening for the new location, according to owner Sean Katchuba, and the company is currently hiring for about eight positions to staff it.
The Capac expansion adds to Little Italy Pizza’s existing footprint in Eastpointe, Roseville and Warren, as reported by Detroit Metro Times. Katchuba bought the Eastpointe restaurant in 2024, and the brand traces its roots back to its founding in Detroit in 1959, according to wgrt.com. Katchuba said the company is grateful to grow from one location to four in just two years.
Why Capac Made the Cut
Katchuba said Little Italy Pizza intentionally seeks out communities where it can become a neighborhood staple, and Capac fit that mold. He described Capac as having a close-knit community feel, a quality the outlet's report frames as central to the brand's expansion strategy in St. Clair County.
The Capac restaurant is hiring for positions including a general manager, shift managers, cooks and counter staff. Little Italy Pizza said it will announce hours and other opening details closer to the launch date.

Little Italy Pizza's menu centers on handmade round and Detroit-style pizzas, along with pasta, subs, wings, desserts and other Italian dishes, per the same account. The company's own site lists an even broader lineup, including chicken wings, subs, burgers, French fries, garlic bread, chicken tenders, fresh salads and cheese bread, according to littleitalypizzainc.com.
With three locations already running in Eastpointe, Roseville and Warren, the Capac restaurant marks a notable geographic stretch for the brand beyond its metro Detroit base. For now, residents can watch for hiring announcements and the promised opening-week details as the September 28 launch approaches.
