That live-vocal format is the show's defining feature, according to Vegas Happenings, which reports the cast delivers live solo vocals and complex harmonies across pop and Broadway numbers rather than lip-syncing. Among the performers is Sunshine, who presents a tribute to Dolly Parton's “9 to 5” and joined KSNV to talk about the show, the brunch spread and her Parton homage. Sunshine is played by musician Joe Harter, an accomplished pianist and vocalist who provides live instrumentals during the production, according to Chic Compass Magazine.
From a Downtown Workshop to a Casino Residency
The show's road to the Rio has been a long one. It began as a 2019 workshop at Ron Decar's Event Center, then ran from 2021 to 2023 at Notoriety Live inside Neonopolis in Downtown Las Vegas, with short holiday engagements at The Composer's Room in Commercial Center along the way, per Las Vegas Weekly. Faaabulous! was co-created by longtime Las Vegas host Christopher Kenney, who plays emcee Edie, alongside writer-producer Jamie Morris. Kenney is best known for portraying Edie in Cirque du Soleil's Zumanity at New York-New York for more than a decade, and he originated the Edie persona before joining that production, according to Chic Compass Magazine.

Show-only admission starts at $44.98 plus fees, according to Faaabulous!'s own site, while KSNV reports tickets start at $39.98 plus fees and include free parking and a meet-and-greet with the queens. Full brunch packages climb as high as $119.98 for the “Queen Package,” which adds bottomless mimosas, VIP seating, a tiara and a souvenir photograph, per Vegas4Locals. Faaabulous! built a following well before landing at a major casino. During its Downtown run, the show earned two “Best Drag Production” awards from Vegas411 and a “Cool Hang Alert” feature from the Las Vegas Review-Journal, according to a Facebook video posted by Natalie's Grandview. Those accolades came as the independent production made its case for a bigger stage, eventually finding one at the Rio.
How It Differs From the Strip's Biggest Drag Show
Faaabulous!'s all-live format stands apart from Las Vegas's most prominent resort-backed drag production. RuPaul's Drag Race Live! at the Flamingo Las Vegas relies primarily on lip-sync numbers, elaborate choreography and pre-recorded tracks tied to television storylines, according to Wikipedia. That show opened at the Flamingo in January 2020 and passed its 1,000th performance milestone in 2026, per the same entry. Faaabulous!, by contrast, blends theatrical production, comedy and audience interaction around a cast singing every note themselves — a distinction its creators have leaned on since the show's earliest Downtown days.
