Showers And Thunderstorms Could Linger Saturday
A chance of showers and thunderstorms continues through Saturday, with the best odds early and again during the afternoon. The high should reach about 84 degrees with southwest winds of 3 to 7 mph, and between a quarter and half an inch of rain could fall in some spots, according to the National Weather Service Louisville.
The National Weather Service does not expect severe thunderstorms, but brief downpours could still disrupt outdoor plans and make roads slick. Rain chances ease Saturday evening as showers move east, with temperatures settling near 69 degrees overnight.

According to the National Weather Service Louisville, September 2019 was Louisville's hottest September on record, a separate past heat event that also ranked as the city's driest month of any month on record. For the coming hot stretch, the National Weather Service says heat stroke is a severe medical emergency and warns that delaying treatment can be fatal. Local conditions can also vary by neighborhood. According to a University of Louisville follow-up study, hot afternoon temperatures increased between 2016 and 2024 in about two-thirds of Louisville neighborhoods, with some neighborhoods experiencing rises of more than 10 degrees. That study provides neighborhood-level context for heat exposure but does not identify which areas will be hottest during this particular forecast period.
Patchy fog is expected to develop overnight and could linger into early Sunday, especially where rain has left the ground damp. Sunday should see another round of isolated to scattered showers, with precipitation ending early Sunday night.
Monday brings another mostly sunny day with a high near 84, followed by hotter conditions. Highs are expected to reach the 90s Tuesday and Wednesday, while overnight lows range from the mid-60s to the low 70s.
Late-Week Storm Chances Return
A 30% chance of showers and thunderstorms returns Thursday afternoon, when temperatures are expected to reach about 92 degrees. Friday stays warm near 87 with another chance for showers and thunderstorms, but no watches, warnings or advisories are currently listed for the area.
