A Heat Advisory remains in effect through 8 p.m. Friday, according to the National Weather Service Louisville. Mostly west-southwest winds will stay light Thursday, with gusts of 15 to 20 knots possible, offering little help as temperatures rise through the afternoon.

Thursday night will be mostly clear, but the low is expected to remain near 77 degrees. Overnight conditions could remain uncomfortable for anyone without reliable air conditioning.
Friday will bring another sunny day near 98 degrees, with heat index values up to 104. The advisory continues into Friday evening, and residents are encouraged to drink plenty of fluids, limit strenuous outdoor activity and check on neighbors who may be especially vulnerable to heat.

Saturday will remain hot, with scattered showers and storms possible. A weak front could bring a few gusty storms, but most of the day should remain mostly sunny.
Sunday looks drier and more seasonable. Labor Day should be sunny and warm near 91, with dry weather and lower-90s temperatures during the first half of the following week.
