A man is dead and a woman was flown to a hospital in critical condition after deputies responded to a shooting in East Harris County on Monday. The Harris County Sheriff's Office said deputies found two adults with possible gunshot wounds after arriving at the scene.
According to a statement from HCSOTexas
, deputies responded to a shooting in the 5400 block of N. Redell Road in East Harris County. Upon arrival, deputies located an adult man and an adult woman, both with possible gunshot wounds, the sheriff's office said. The adult man was pronounced deceased at the scene, while the adult woman was transported by Life Flight to medical care in critical condition, per the same account.
Investigation Remains Ongoing
The shooting investigation remained ongoing as of Monday. No further details on the man or woman involved, including their identities, had been released.
A separate report from FOX 26 Houston described a shooting in which a 68-year-old man died after being shot inside an East Harris County apartment on Uvalde Road, with deputies called to the scene near the Cloverleaf area at about 6:46 p.m. That station reported that the man's 50-year-old wife told authorities she shot him while he was assaulting her, and that authorities attempted CPR on the man until EMS arrived and pronounced him dead.
Wife Being Questioned, Charges Undetermined
Investigators were interviewing the woman in the FOX 26 account to determine what led to the fatal shooting, the station reported, and officials had not announced whether charges would be filed.
Part of a Pattern of Recent Shootings in the Area
East Harris County has seen other shootings investigated by the sheriff's office in recent months. In May, KPRC 2 / Click2Houston reported that a 20-year-old man was found shot to death in northeast Harris County, a case in which deputies said a teenage girlfriend may have been involved. And in November 2025, KHOU reported that a man died and a woman was taken by Life Flight to a hospital after both were found during a welfare check in East Harris County. The sheriff's office also investigated the deaths of a man and a woman found shot inside a home in June 2025, according to FOX 26 Houston.
No further information has been released about Monday's shooting on N. Redell Road, and the investigation remains active.
