A man died Monday evening after what Louisville police are calling a workplace incident inside a garage in the 12900 block of Taylorsville Road, near Jeffersontown. Officers, EMS, and Jeffersontown Fire crews all responded around 5:15 p.m. to reports of a person down inside a business, and arriving officers found the man down inside the garage area before he was pronounced dead at the scene.
LMPD confirmed the death to WLKY, saying a man died after a workplace incident near Jeffersontown. His name has not been released. Per WHAS11, LMPD's Homicide Unit was assigned to conduct the death investigation following the multi-agency response.
Why the Victim's Name Is Still Unknown
The delay in identifying the man is not unusual. The man's identity had not been released pending notification of next of kin.

Beyond the police death investigation, workplace-safety reporting is also addressed. Under Kentucky Administrative Regulation 803 KAR 2:181, employers are legally required to report any work-related fatality to the Kentucky Division of Occupational Safety and Health Compliance within eight hours of learning of the death, according to the Kentucky Legislature.
Kentucky Occupational Safety and Health investigators are tasked with determining whether safety standards under KRS Chapter 338 were violated.
