A man believed to be in his 60s was rushed to a nearby emergency room in serious condition Sunday morning after an apparent stabbing at Heʻeia Kea Pier in Kāneʻohe. Honolulu Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene at approximately 7:10 a.m. and found the man suffering from apparent stab wounds and lacerations.
According to KITV, paramedics administered advanced life-saving measures at the scene before transporting the man to a hospital. Officials had released no further information about the circumstances of the attack or a possible suspect at the time of KITV's report, and the outlet said the article would be updated as more details emerge.
A Major Windward Oʻahu Boating Hub
Heʻeia Kea Small Boat Harbor is located at 46-499 Kamehameha Highway and includes 21 berths, 54 moorings, and three boat launch ramps along Kāneʻohe Bay, according to the Hawaiʻi Department of Land and Natural Resources. The harbor also serves as a meeting point for commercial tour vessels at Slip 316, with access to Kāneʻohe Bay.
HPD District 4 covers Windward Oʻahu from Makapuʻu Point to Kawela Bay and operates out of the main Kāneʻohe Police Station.
Possible Charges Still Undetermined
No charges had been announced as of publication, and it remains unclear whether a suspect has been identified. Under Hawaiʻi Revised Statutes § 707-711, intentionally or knowingly causing bodily injury with a dangerous instrument is classified as Assault in the Second Degree, a Class C felony punishable by up to five years in prison and a $10,000 fine. If investigators determine the attack involved intent to cause death, Hawaiʻi Revised Statutes § 705-500 and § 707-701.5 allow prosecutors to instead pursue Attempted Murder in the Second Degree, a felony carrying a potential life sentence with the possibility of parole.

In early August, a 58-year-old man was hospitalized in critical condition after a stabbing in nearby Waimānalo, a case Hoodline reported saw no immediate arrests.
Mid-2026 has also brought an August stabbing on Keʻeaumoku Street in Honolulu that led to a second-degree murder arrest, as Hoodline previously reported.
