Fort Worth police officers responded to the hospital after the man arrived seeking treatment, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. Investigators have not disclosed the exact time or location of the shooting itself, only confirming that the man told officers the party where he was shot was near Fox Run Drive.
Gang Unit Takes Over the Investigation
Gang-unit detectives are now investigating the case, the newspaper's report notes, though it's unclear what prompted that specific unit's involvement rather than a standard patrol response. A Pattern of Unresolved Fort Worth Shootings
On January 6, 2025, police searched for two suspects after a shooting near the Stockyards left one person critically injured, according to WFAA. That shooting happened just before 1 p.m. near NW 24th Street and Clinton Avenue and, according to police, stemmed from an argument involving two men and a woman during which one of the men was shot.
In that Stockyards case, the victim was transported to a local hospital where police said he was unresponsive, and as of 4 p.m. that Monday, no arrests had been announced and the investigation remained ongoing, WFAA reported. It's a similar pattern to Sunday's case: a victim arriving at a hospital, detectives working the case, and no one yet in custody.
