A man was stabbed in broad daylight on the 4500 block of Benning Road NE in Washington, D.C., and police are now searching for a suspect described as wearing a white shirt and black jeans.
D.C. police responded to the 4500 block of Benning Road NE and found the stabbed man at the scene, as reported by WJLA. Police said the victim was awake and breathing when he was taken to the hospital. An earlier report from NBC Washington covered a separate stabbing in 2016 and said that victim's condition was unknown at the time.
According to NBC Washington, in 2016 two men were injured in a shooting on Benning Road SE, and a separate stabbing on Benning Road NE occurred less than an hour later. The outlet described three people shot and one person stabbed across three incidents: two shootings and one stabbing.
Suspect Sought In White Shirt And Black Jeans
Police are searching for a man believed to be involved in the stabbing, describing him as wearing a white shirt and black jeans, per the WJLA report. Officers have asked anyone with information about the incident to come forward, requesting tips be sent to police.

Not The First Stabbing Along The Corridor
Benning Road has been the site of other stabbings in recent years. On July 2, police responded to the 3300 block of Benning Road NE just after 10:30 p.m. after a man was stabbed, and medics took him to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the same DC News Now account. In that case, a lookout was issued for two males on scooters.
Further back, on Sept. 7, 2019, police investigated a stabbing in the 1600 block of Benning Road NE and found an adult male victim suffering from multiple stab wounds, as reported by Hill Rag. A 38-year-old Southeast man was later arrested and charged with assault with intent to kill while armed with a knife in that 2019 case.
