A Brevard County man was arrested after authorities said he approached a woman sitting in her car on Merritt Island, yanked open her driver-side door and demanded she move over so he could take the wheel. She refused, and deputies say the ordeal ended minutes later when they tracked him down on foot before locating a revolver wrapped inside a shirt he had thrown away while running.
Jeremy Graves, 39, was arrested and charged in the attempted carjacking, according to Florida Today. The outlet reports that Graves opened the woman's driver's door, attempted to get in and yelled at her to move over. As he tried to force his way inside, the woman spotted a handgun partially concealed in a shirt wrapped around his hand.
The woman was not injured, per the same report, and she called for help rather than giving up her vehicle. CBS12 reports that after she called for help, deputies spotted Graves nearby.
