Milwaukee is waking up Thursday to light rain, fog and mist, with temperatures around 63 degrees early in the morning. Showers could linger through late morning before the city turns mostly cloudy and reaches a high near 71.
Rain Eases By Thursday Afternoon
Rain should shut down by mid-to-late Thursday morning, while northeast winds remain light at 5 to 10 mph. Conditions should remain dry from Thursday afternoon through the overnight.
Friday starts partly sunny with a high near 69, but scattered showers and storms could occur Friday afternoon, especially across the western part of the forecast area. The bigger shift arrives Friday night, when showers and thunderstorms become likely and could drop 1 to 2 inches of rain.
Weekend Storms Could Bring Several Inches
Saturday is shaping up as the most unsettled day, with widespread showers and storms possible. The National Weather Service office serving Milwaukee says locally heavy rain and flooding impacts will be possible as storms move through Friday night and Saturday.
Saturday night could see high pressure building after the cold front moves through Saturday afternoon and evening. Severe weather is not currently expected to be widespread, but heavy downpours may create problems for low-lying areas, urban streets and small streams.
Cooler And Windier Weather Follows
Sunday brings off-and-on lighter rain into early next week. Monday is the best window for additional rain.
The forecast supports drying from Tuesday onward, with conditions drying out by midweek. For now, Milwaukee residents with weekend plans should expect a soggy forecast, keep an eye on changing rain totals and avoid driving through flooded roadways.
