
A 15-year-old Sacramento boy who had been missing since Sunday afternoon has been found safe, according to the Sacramento Police Department. Police said A.R. Phimthasone was last seen around 3 p.m. on September 20, 2026, in the 1300 block of Tumbleweed Way. The department classified him as an at-risk missing person and asked the public for help finding him.
In a post shared on X, the Sacramento Police Department
wrote simply, “UPDATE: A.R. has been safely located.” The brief update followed the department’s earlier description of Phimthasone as being at risk because of a mental health condition and its request for the public’s assistance in locating him.
Before he was found, police described Phimthasone as standing 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing 138 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing blue denim shorts and a top of an unknown color, according to the same police account.
What Families Should Provide When Reporting a Missing Child
The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children says families reporting a missing child should provide law enforcement with identifying information, including the child’s name, date of birth, height, weight and unique identifiers, according to the organization’s guidance.
Police Seek Public’s Help in At-Risk Missing-Person Case
Before the update, the department asked anyone who had seen Phimthasone or knew his whereabouts to contact officers immediately. Its public posts identified the case as involving an at-risk missing person.
No additional details were released about where or when Phimthasone was found, and the department’s post did not specify whether any further action was needed following his return.
