
Monroe Township police are looking for the owner of a turtle found wandering in town this week. Officers took the animal into custody, and the department is asking anyone who recognizes it to come forward.
The turtle was found Monday near Church and Academy streets in Monroe Township, New Jersey, and police shared photos of it on social media, according to 6abc Philadelphia.
A Brief Foot Pursuit
The report said officers characterized the capture as a short chase on foot. Police have since turned their attention to identifying the turtle’s owner.
Officers are hoping to reunite the turtle with its owner, according to the station’s report.

Anyone with information about the turtle’s owner is asked to call the Monroe Township Police Department or the Gloucester County Animal Shelter, according to the report.
