The intersection where Sunday's crash happened, Greenbelt Highway at Greenwood Road, is explicitly named in Louisville Metro Government's transportation plans as a priority focus point for safety upgrades and traffic monitoring. Infrastructure records show KYTC Item No. 5-323.01 calls for widening Greenwood Road from Greenbelt Highway to Dixie Highway into three lanes with a center turn lane, aimed at reducing turning conflicts near the crash site.
