A motorcyclist died Thursday night in a crash on the ramp connecting southbound I-45 to westbound N. Sam Houston Tollway in Houston's Greenspoint area, prompting deputies to shut down a lane and investigate the scene into the early morning hours.
According to the Harris County Pct. 4 Constable's Office, the fatal wreck occurred on the busy connector ramp linking the two major roadways, a stretch of highway that funnels heavy traffic between I-45 and Beltway 8 on the north side of the city. Deputies responded to the scene and began investigating the circumstances of the crash.

Deputies blocked the ramp's left lane during the investigation, according to the report.
The constable's office urged motorists to use caution and slow down, and warned drivers to expect delays while the investigation continued.
