A 26-year-old Muskegon man was formally arraigned Thursday on homicide and weapons charges in the fatal shooting of R&B singer Antonio “Tonio” Hall, who was found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds inside a residence in a Norton Shores mobile home park two days earlier. Hall, 27, was pronounced dead at the scene on the 3200 block of Ingersoll Avenue near Alberta Avenue after officers responded to a shooting report shortly before 6 p.m. on September 15, 2026.
According to WZZM 13, prosecutors confirmed charges against the suspect after his arrest. Fire and EMS personnel attempted life-saving measures at the scene for roughly half an hour, but Hall was pronounced dead there, according to HYPE FRESH. Police said there was no ongoing threat to the public after the arrest, and a weapon was recovered at the scene.
Multi-Agency Response Inside the Mobile Home Park
The Norton Shores Police Department led the homicide investigation, with scene and forensic support from the Michigan State Police, the Michigan State Police Crime Laboratory, the Norton Shores Fire Department and Life EMS, according to the Hindustan Times. The Norton Shores Police Department is one of two accredited law enforcement agencies among Michigan's 588 police agencies, according to the City of Muskegon.
Authorities have asked anyone with information about the shooting to contact the Norton Shores Police Department at 231-733-2691 or submit an anonymous tip through Muskegon County Silent Observer at 231-722-7463. Investigators have not announced a motive. Associates have referred to an underlying dispute, but police have not publicly verified that account.

According to The Detroit News, a separate post-prom incident on Saturday, May 9, involved four people shot and two people hit by vehicles at the Norton Shores Veterans of Foreign Wars. The report described that investigation separately from Hall's death. A Homecoming Marked By Grief
Hall had returned to the Muskegon area, where he grew up, for his grandmother's funeral, according to HYPE FRESH. A GoFundMe campaign was mentioned in connection with funeral expenses.
Friends recalled seeing Hall hours before the shooting. Romel Cantrell told HYPE FRESH, “That was our first time in years that we saw each other in person, let alone get in the studio and work the way we did.”
From Church Drums to Def Jam
Hall began playing drums and piano in church before moving to Dallas to pursue R&B. He signed with Seven14 Entertainment and released the 2022 single “O M W,” distributed through Def Jam Recordings, a division of UMG Recordings, Inc., according to Universal Music Group.
He went on to release his debut album Over My Feelings in 2021 and a later single, “Love Interrupted,” on October 3, 2025, according to the same Primetimer report. Hall had grown his audience, according to the same Primetimer report.
Second Major Shooting In Norton Shores This Year
Hall's death is separate from a May incident at a Norton Shores Veterans of Foreign Wars hall in which four people were shot and two others were hit by vehicles during a post-prom party, according to WZZM 13's earlier reporting.
The Muskegon County Prosecutor's Office reviewed the case before filing charges, and the investigation into Hall's death continues as court proceedings move forward. Authorities have not released additional details about the suspect's identity beyond confirming his age and hometown.
