Construction crews are hard at work at the corner of East Cedar and Cartwright Street in Goodlettsville, where a Home2 Suites by Hilton hotel is taking shape. The project adds a hotel to the area.
According to the City of Goodlettsville, TN Government, the new hotel will open at that intersection, though an exact opening date wasn't specified in the city's announcement. City planning records identify a proposed 100-room, 61,786-square-foot hotel spanning 2.14 acres at 320 Cartwright Street. The parcel sits within a Commercial Services zone that carries a Commercial Core Overlay designation.
A Site Years in the Making
This isn't the first proposal for this address. A one-story height variance was sought and received from the Goodlettsville Board of Zoning and Sign Appeals back in September 2019 for a proposed multi-acre hotel development on the same Cartwright Street and East Cedar Street site, according to city records. The records describe the site as part of a proposed multi-acre hotel development.
A 98-room Tru by Hilton Goodlettsville Nashville opened in October 2025 near Interstate 65 and Historic Mansker's Station, managed by Resolute Road Hospitality on behalf of Shiv Sai Hospitality Group Inc., as reported by Hotel Business. The Home2 Suites project adds another Hilton-branded property to Goodlettsville. The city markets Goodlettsville to travelers.
Extended-Stay Options Also Growing
The hotel boom isn't limited to new construction. The Atlas Hotel & Lofts opened in mid-2026 through an adaptive reuse of a former motel property in the Rivergate corridor, offering extended-stay lodging rather than traditional apartment living, according to the Goodlettsville Area Chamber of Commerce. Taken together with the new Home2 Suites, the projects point to a city actively courting both overnight tourists and longer-term guests.
That hospitality push is happening alongside ongoing discussions about how Goodlettsville handles growth. City leaders enacted a temporary moratorium on multi-family residential construction in 2024, according to WZTV Fox 17. The city has continued to consider how to manage growth.
Bigger Picture: RiverGate and Beyond
The Home2 Suites project also fits into a wider transformation underway across Goodlettsville's commercial core. Hoodline previously reported that the Goodlettsville Planning Commission approved a mixed-use redevelopment of the former RiverGate Mall site, a 57-acre campus slated to become a walkable neighborhood with new housing, retail, and hotels after the 54-year-old mall closed permanently earlier in 2026.
New hotel rooms can also generate hotel/motel tax revenue. The UT County Technical Assistance Service explains that hotel and motel occupancy-tax revenues are used for tourism promotion and tourism development.
Nearby infrastructure is getting attention too. Goodlettsville received an LPRF grant for park access upgrades at Moss-Wright Park, including 3,000 linear feet of ADA pedestrian trails and widened drives, according to city records. As construction continues at Cedar and Cartwright, the project will add a new hotel to the site.
