A new attraction rising 133 feet above Prospect Street is set to give Niagara Falls visitors a fresh way to take in the view, from a slow-spinning bar seat with a cocktail in hand. SkyBar Niagara Falls is planned as an Aerobar-style ride offering unobstructed 360-degree vistas of the city skyline and the American Falls, with installation slated to begin in May 2027 and first flights anticipated around Memorial Day weekend of that year.
The attraction will be operated by Live! Incorporated out of its existing Hard Rock Cafe location on Prospect Street, according to Signal Newsbuffalo. The ride is planned for that existing Prospect Street location.
A Slow Spin, Not a Thrill Ride
Unlike the stomach-dropping rides that dominate much of the tourist-attraction landscape, SkyBar Niagara Falls is designed as a leisurely, panoramic experience rather than a high-adrenaline one, according to NewYorkUpstate.com. Per that outlet's reporting, the ride is meant to lift guests gently while providing a full rotation at the top, letting riders soak in the skyline and the falls rather than brace for a drop.
The ride is expected to seat 16 people at a time, with rides running roughly 8 to 15 minutes and costing around $25 per person. NewYorkUpstate.com also reports that guests may be able to bring drinks from the Hard Rock Cafe along for the ride, and that the attraction is expected to operate year-round once it opens.
Idea Born From a Las Vegas Ride
According to NewYorkUpstate.com, the concept traces back to Daniel Tighe, a vice president of Live! Incorporated, who reportedly got the idea for SkyBar Niagara Falls after riding the Liftoff Bar and Ride in Las Vegas. SkyBar Niagara Falls would be the third such Aerobar in the United States, after similar attractions in Las Vegas and Biloxi, Mississippi.
Live! Incorporated is developing the roughly $4 million project and hopes to have it open in time for Memorial Day weekend 2027, aligning with the timeline described by Signal Newsbuffalo. The Aerobar concept marries a bar experience with a slow aerial loop, giving visitors a new vantage point on a skyline and waterfall they may have only seen from ground level.
