Roughly 200 vehicles are set to roll into North Natomas this Saturday for the 29th Annual Mustangs and Fords Car Show, a free, all-day event running from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Universal Technical Institute. Muscle cars, exotics, classics, customs, trucks, antiques and hot rods will line the lot alongside vendors, food trucks, barbecue, and live music from a band and DJ.
This year marks a significant change in venue for the long-running show, according to FOX40 News. The Sacramento Area Mustang Club relocated the event from the Sacramento Marriott Rancho Cordova to UTI's North Natomas campus specifically to double vehicle parking and expand vendor space, according to a Facebook post from the club. Universal Technical Institute is also holding an open house during the car show, giving visitors a look at the campus itself while they check out the vehicles on display.
Regional group Cars & Coffee Sacramento is co-hosting Saturday's show alongside the Mustang club, according to a post from Cars & Coffee Sac. The partnership fits a broader pattern for the Mustang club, which has been scaling up its flagship event by teaming with established local automotive hubs rather than going it alone.
Trophies and a Free Spectator Gate
Vehicle owners looking to enter their rides can register through the Zeffy fundraising platform, while spectator admission stays completely free for the general public, per the club's Facebook post. The show also features more than 50 trophies across multiple classic and modern Ford vehicle categories.
The financial structure behind the event carries a charitable purpose. The Sacramento Area Mustang Club highlights charitable efforts, including past support for the California Automobile Museum and regional scholarship funds, according to the club's sponsor page and its Zeffy event listing. The Zeffy listing says 100% of a purchase goes to the club's mission.
A Training Ground Turned Car Show Backdrop
The new venue brings its own local history. Universal Technical Institute's Sacramento campus marked its 20th anniversary in October 2025, having trained more than 13,300 graduates across its 117,000-square-foot facility since opening in 2005, according to a release distributed via PR Newswire. The campus offers Associate of Occupational Studies degrees in automotive and diesel technology, including the manufacturer-specific Ford Accelerated Credential Training program, the same release notes.
That Ford-specific training thread connects neatly to the show's namesake nameplate. The Mustang debuted at the 1964 New York World's Fair, according to Ford Motor Company.
