A 16-year-old girl named Avanni Williams has been missing from Northeast Philadelphia since late September, last seen just after 10 p.m. on the 2500 block of Welsh Road. She is described as 5 feet tall, roughly 140 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes, and police say her clothing at the time she vanished remains unknown.
The Philadelphia Police Department published its missing juvenile alert for Williams on Sunday, September 28, identifying her case as falling under the 8th Police District, according to Newport Dispatch. That timeline places her disappearance five days before the department went public with the request for tips, per the department's own account, which said she has been missing since late September.
The stretch of Welsh Road where Williams was last seen runs through the Mayfair/Holmesburg section of Northeast Philadelphia, a corridor known locally as a busy mix of commercial strips and residential blocks, according to Metro Philadelphia. The 8th Police District's headquarters sits at 3100 Red Lion Road at Academy Road, per the Philadelphia Bar Association, and serves as one of four districts within the department's Northeast Police Division.
Case Now in the Hands of Northeast Detectives

Williams's case is one of several missing juvenile alerts Philadelphia Police issued in late September, including for 15-year-old Daniel Williams out of the 22nd District and 14-year-old Jahmir Triggs-Cooper from the 17th District.
