A Ride Turns Violent Near the Airport

The area where the attack unfolded is part of an industrial logistics corridor off Tradeport Drive near Jacksonville International Airport, home to large commercial facilities including Farm Share's Northeast Florida distribution warehouse, according to the Lemontree Directory.
No Crime Scene, No Shell Casings — Yet
The victim could not identify the exact location where the shooting happened, and investigators have not located a primary crime scene or recovered any shell casings, according to News4JAX's report. He was able to describe one of the suspects — the man who allegedly beat and shot him — as a heavy-set male in his late 30s, but could not describe the other three men involved.
Detectives are now interviewing witnesses, searching for surveillance video from nearby facilities and following up on leads, the outlet reports. Investigators believe the incident was isolated and, at this stage, does not appear to be domestic- or gang-related.
Latest in a String of Northside Incidents
The robbery adds to a string of violent incidents along Jacksonville's Northside corridor. Just weeks earlier, on August 26, JSO detectives investigated a shooting in the 800 block of Dunn Avenue near Harts Road, but the victim's identity and condition had not been released, as Hoodline previously reported. Official JSO Transparency Portal data recorded 37 murders and 42 total homicides across Duval County through late August, part of what the sheriff's office has described as an overall downward trend compared to the prior year, even as localized flashpoints continue to worry Northside residents.
If the suspects are identified and charged, they could face criminal prosecution.
